    The NWLLS Landholder Chemical Supply program is specifically designed to assist landholders to reduce the distribution and density of Hudson pear and Harrisia cactus and Mother-of-millions within the North West Local Land Services region for the benefit of the environment, agriculture, mining and tourism industries.

    This program is being delivered through the North West Cacti Control Coordination partnership with Northern Slopes Landcare Association Inc (NSLA).

     3) GUIDELINES

    Activities NOT eligible for funding:

    • Statutory weed control
    • Clearing of native vegetation
    • Activities that have already been completed
    • Chemical will not be supplied to contractors or sub-contractors on behalf of landholders

    Activities eligible for funding

    • Establishment of buffer zones within core infestations of priority species
    • Establishment of containment zones outside core infestations of priority species
    • Local eradication of outlier incursions in strategic locations

    To be eligible you must;

    1. Be able to demonstrate that proposed activities are over and above any statutory landholder requirements for weed management under the Biosecurity Act 2015.
    2. Be willing to agree to enter into an Agreement for the provision of herbicide.
    3. Be able to Supply North West LLS with:
      • A copy of a current chemical user’s certificate to handle, transport and apply chemicals.
      • A copy of current Public Liability and Worker Compensation insurance Certificates of Currency.
      • Signed Job Safety Analysis (JSA) as provided by North West Local Land Services.

    Approved Landholders will be required to pick up chemical from designated locations within agreed timeframes.

    NWLLS staff will not act as delivery agents for landholders and maintain the right to refuse service and or access to chemical at their discretion.

    How much funding is available for each project?

    Provision of chemical to landholders under this program is limited to the minimum quantity deemed necessary to achieve required results which are over and above any statutory landholder requirements under the Biosecurity Act 2015.

    How will my project be assessed?

    All applications will be ranked by an assessment based on criteria that may include:

    • Which priority species is being targeted
    • The size of the project area.
    • The cost and cost share of the project.
    • How it demonstrates long term commitment to reduce the distribution and density of Hudson pear and Harrisia cactus and Mother-of-millions within the North West Local Land Services region.
